1. How would you describe your voice?

Think about:

  • Is your voice monotone, or quiet?
  • Do you sound short of breath?
  • Does you sentence tail off before the end of what you are saying?             

  1. What do you like about your voice?

  1. How do others react to your speaking?

  1. If people have difficulty hearing you, do they tell you? And if they do, what do they say the reason is?

  1. How open and free do your lungs and throat feel when you speak?

  1. When you speak does your breath come from your chest or from you stomach?

  1. How fast do you think you speak- fast, medium or slow?

Think about:

  • Does the pace of your voice change according to circumstances?
  • Does it reflect your feelings in any way?
  • Does it depend on to whom you are speaking?

  1. How much do you pause between phrases and sentences?

  1. When you speak a sentence does it flow or is it jerky?

  1. How clear are your t's, d's, p's, b's?
  • These are consonants that make an impactful sound and are often weak.

  1. Read a paragraph from a newspaper or book and makes notes on how expressively and interestingly you felt you read.
